It's Inland Sessions.
We welcome Left Over Soul.
A chameleon in musical form, this Spokane based band brings a diversity of sound.
Enjoy a blend of soul, blues, latin, and gospel.
We are Left Over Soul.
And we are here to share some tunes with you all today.
The first song we will be doing for yall is called If I Want to Wait.
And basically is just some words of love to youre better half.
And without further ado.
I work so hard To mend my broken heart See, I didn't want to move to fast And trip up at the start See, baby I believe you and I Were meant to be See, I want to trust you so bad But my past keeps hurting me!
If I want to wait If I want to wait That's my business That's my business If I want to wait If I want to wait, thats my business That's my business Listen up See what's a man to do?
When his well runs dry See, holding all this pain I thought they said men aint supposed to cry But see through all our ups and downs You were always by my side And I'm hoping you stay there And you're not here just for the ride!
If I want to wait If I want to wait That's my business That's my business Say, If I want to wait Come on!
If I want to wait That's my business That's my business If I want to wait Baby, that's my my business See, I feel you coming at me strong And you don't even know what's wrong Sometimes I think I got a right But right now my My heart's beating a different tune It's not that I don't love you, but right now I choose me If I want to wait Said, if I want to wait That's my business That's my business Come on now!
If I want to wait Say, if I want to wait That's my business That's my business Hey!
Oh, Oh!
If I want to wait If I want to wait That's my business That's my business Said, if I want to wait If I want to wait That's my business That's my business If I want to wait I use a moonlight a lot with a band called The Long Necks.
And so they kind of went their separate ways.
And so we all decided to come up with another name with the remainder members of The Long Necks, and so we came up with the name, Left Over Soul.
There's a bunch of soul in his band, each one of us, we all carry our unique soulful inspiration.
We all bring our different flavor and sauces to this, just like a big old, big old bowl of gumbo.
Hey!
Im not a saint In this here valley Oh, I gotta keep on Moving on But until that day I said it won't be long Oh I gotta keep on moving on See, I'm not a saint In this here valley I gotta keep on, moving on But until that day Said it won't be long Said I got to keep on moving on Come on!
See, I found myself In a dark area Caged in by four walls I found myself oh, yes, I did, In the hands of the law See, I'm not a saint In this here valley Oh, I gotta keep on moving on But until that day Said it won't be long Said I gotta keep on moving on Said I gotta keep on moving on!
Yeah, I've met you at Hoffman music Which is where I work.
You had a stuck reed on your harp.
Sure did.
And we started talking about music.
I was I had a Q-Tip, some alcohol.
I was trying to clean it out.
I think I got it working.
Yeah, you did.
In my memory I got it working.
I know if I really did, but, we started talking about music, and then, he told me to to come and sit in, and then I just, never sat out.
It's been an incredible outlet for what feels like a lifetime now.
Doesn't mean we haven't been through a couple trials.
Yeah oh yeah.
We had to sweat it out a few times.
But, we always come back to ground zero where the music is.
I wouldn't have it any other way or do it with any other guys.
Every day when I go out I go out All my thoughts, they fill with doubt Filled with doubt When you see me walking down the street Down the street I don't see you stand in front of me But I don't think about it I don't tell you ‘bout If we ever part well I'll leave you better When you left me Baby, you left me You left me, baby You and me we always fought it out Fought it out Every day, baby, you stress me out You stress me out But I can never go moving out You the one thing I can't live without But, I don't think about it I don't tell you ‘bout If we ever part Ill leave you better Than you left me baby When you left me When you left me, baby Babe, I saw you try to strike me out Strike me out You hit the ball Way out of bounds Out of bounds Try to wait for you to come around Folks they come, they always shut me down They shut me down I don't think about it I don't tell you about it If we ever part well Ill leave you better Than you left me You left me, well You left me, baby Hey!
Inspirations for me, I come from a gospel background.
I started off singing and, you know, church when I was very young.
Bobby Blue Bland, Curtis Mayfield, of course, Marvin Gaye Joe Tex, the whole Motown!
I mean, and goes on and on.
I spent a lot of time practicing to like Hendrix records and learning those things, note for note.
That was really how I learned how to play guitar.
Influences come from every which angle.
And I try to just sponge it up the best I can.
Whatever we do, you know what I'm saying?
Our intent is to make somebody out there happy, well, you know what Im saying?
Music is a universal language man.
But you used to have the dance that the dance.
Yeah.
Oh, yeah.
At Geno's, hed get the whole, the whole line dance people.
And, because Raleighs a great dancer.
Yeah.
Oh yeah We like to throw a party.
That's... Thats what it is.
Yeah.
Pretty much.
Yeah.
That's what it is.
At this moment man we have our next song is called Coming Unglued.
And, and we're about to audition our fabulous horn section here.
So solos by, lead soloist Zach the sax man.
So, without further ado, this is Coming Unglued.
