At least as I see it in my mind, is that it seemed to have happened at one of the first night celebrations, New Year's Eve.
And I initially saw Laddie, playing at an art gallery downtown and then one night I ran into Brad at another venue, a local venue in town on the South Hill, and we got to talking and I thought the three of us together would sound great.
I had a lot of people say, You're crazy.
That's never going to work.
We're at the second incarnation of Keeler Melvin and Morse, now the first incarnation.
It was so tight and it sounded so good.
And it was and it was so easy that we just kind of took it from there.
(Laddie Ray) One of the first projects we worked on actually was a recording Lyle was making, and we sat in and did what we could to help help him out, and it turned out pretty good.
(Lyle) The pay was good, too huh?
(Laddie Ray) The pay was great.
Never made some music.
Yeah.
(Brad) About three years ago, we were had an invite at a at a certain venue to do a show as a trio.
And we hadn't played in public since 2011.
In that first incarnation of Keeler, Melvin and Morris lasted about, what, maybe five or six years?

I think it's a personally, I think it's a little more complex as we've got older, we've experienced a lot of different things and I think all of that gets kind of woven into our music, especially our songwriting.
