With a whimsical whistle and a glittering mandolin, the band Floating Crowbar brings the sounds of the Irish countryside to our Inland Empire.

Hi, I'm Don Thomsen and I am a member of the Floating Crowbar band and we play Irish traditional music.

And I'm Morgan Andersen.

And tonight we are also joined by the Haran School of Dance.

We've taken several trips to Ireland together.

And this next song, Right Tearnin, we first heard in a pub in County Galway.

Both Rick and James looked at each other and said, That's great, we've got to get that song.

One of the reasons we fell in love with this song at the time is that it's about the traveling people uh, going from the north part of the west coast to the south, and they mention many place names along the way, and we have been to virtually all of those places.

So that's one of the reasons that we were charmed by this song.

And it's called Right Tearnin.

And at the end of Right Tearnin we've added on a waltz called Dympnas waltz.

Dympna was a lovely woman who played the concertina as well as anyone I've ever heard, and a friend of ours, someone we met in Mayo, County Mayo, Joe Carey, wrote this tune called Dympnas waltz for his good friend, Dympna.
