It was important when I was thinking about the story and the structure and the form, that Maria's photos and story is going to be a part of it.

So when she comes in with the voice and telling the story, it should reflect what happened in their present time.

And, it was also a reminder that she was a part of them, so I wanted to include the values and the ideas and the thoughts of Maria through their lifestyle and at the same time, just see how a family goes through these severe changes and how do children cope with grief, how do a single father cope with grief.

I think it's so important that we talk about this and that we talk about loss and that we talk about the changes in life and how we can deal with it.

I just really hope that people who see the film can reflect on their own lives.

Even if you live in the U.S. or in Japan or in Norway, that you can reflect on your own relationship with your parents, your siblings, maybe you lost somebody, maybe it's about raising children.

The story goes into different subjects, and as long as people can in some way reflect on their own lives, make them inspired, make them talk together about it that's the aim for it.

And that's what we hope for when we present our film.
